According to the Daviess County Sheriff’s Office, Amanda John was driving a white 2024 Chevy Tahoe southbound on State Road 57 near County Road 575 South in the Sandy Hook Curve area around 11:27 a.m. Authorities say that for reasons still unknown, the SUV traveled off the west side of the roadway, struck a guardrail, and came to rest in a deep ditch. Tragically, Amanda was pronounced dead at the scene.
