With profound sadness and heartfelt sympathy, we remember and honor the life of Richard Hartnell, 56, of Kenosha, Wisconsin, whose life was tragically cut short on the evening of June 2, 2026, following a fatal pedestrian accident in Erie County, Ohio.
According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the tragic incident occurred at approximately 10:10 p.m. on U.S. Route 250 near Fox Road in Huron Township. Preliminary reports indicate that Richard was attempting to cross the highway when he was struck by a northbound Harley-Davidson motorcycle. Moments later, he was also struck by a Toyota RAV4 traveling in the area. Despite emergency response efforts, Richard succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Today, those who knew and loved Richard are left mourning a tremendous loss. While the circumstances surrounding his passing remain under investigation, what remains certain is that a beloved son, family member, friend, and member of the community has been taken far too soon.
