VICTORVILLE, Calif. —Authorities have identified the victim of a deadly shooting that occurred Sunday morning in Victorville’s Eagle Ranch neighborhood as 19-year-old Anysha Mott of Victorville. The incident has prompted an ongoing homicide investigation by the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department as detectives work to determine what led to the fatal violence.
According to officials, deputies responded at approximately 11:27 a.m. on June 14, 2026, to the 12000 block of Osprey Lane near Mesa Linda Avenue following reports of an assault with a deadly weapon. The call led law enforcement into a quiet residential area that would soon become an active crime scene.
When deputies arrived, they discovered Mott lying in the roadway suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Witnesses in the neighborhood reported hearing several gunshots shortly before she was found. Residents described a sudden and alarming scene that unfolded in broad daylight, prompting an immediate response from emergency personnel.
Deputies began providing life-saving measures at the scene until paramedics arrived. Mott was then transported to a nearby hospital for further treatment. Despite medical efforts, she was later pronounced deceased.
Following the incident, detectives with the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Specialized Investigations Division – Homicide Detail responded to take over the case. Investigators remained on scene throughout the afternoon, gathering evidence, speaking with witnesses, and documenting the area where the shooting occurred.
As part of the investigation, Osprey Lane was shut down in both directions, and several surrounding side streets were also temporarily closed off. The Victorville Public Works Department assisted deputies with traffic control and securing the area while investigators worked to process the scene.
Authorities have not released any information regarding a suspect or potential vehicle connected to the shooting, and no arrests have been announced as of this time. Investigators have also not disclosed a possible motive, and the circumstances leading up to the incident remain unclear.
Residents in the Eagle Ranch community expressed shock following the incident, noting that the area is typically considered quiet and residential. The presence of a large law enforcement response and extended road closures drew attention throughout the afternoon as the investigation unfolded.
