Fatal Two Vehicle Crash in Orange Township Claims Life of Chad Shepler, 30, of Jenera

The Findlay Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a two vehicle fatal crash that occurred on June 16, 2026, at approximately 5:58 A.M., at the intersection of Lincoln Highway and County Road 15 in Orange Township involving 30 year old Chad Shepler of Jenera, Ohio, which ultimately claimed his life.

According to investigators, a 2008 Pontiac G 6 was traveling westbound on Lincoln Highway approaching County Road 15, driven by 30 year old Chad Shepler of Jenera, Ohio. At the same time, a 2019 Chevrolet Cruze was traveling northbound on State Route 15 approaching Lincoln Highway, driven by 57 year old Gregory Miron of Ada, Ohio.

Preliminary information indicates that the Chevrolet Cruze failed to yield at the posted stop sign and entered the intersection, where it struck the Pontiac G 6 on the driver’s side door. Following the impact, both vehicles traveled off the northwest side of the roadway and came to rest in a nearby field.

Chad Shepler sustained fatal injuries in the crash and was pronounced deceased at the scene by responding authorities. His next of kin has been notified.

Gregory Miron sustained serious injuries in the collision and was transported by ground ambulance to Lima Memorial Hospital. Officials confirmed his injuries are non life threatening.

Authorities confirmed that impairment is not considered a factor in the crash. Both drivers were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the collision, according to preliminary findings.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash, including the sequence of events leading up to the intersection impact.

Assisting at the scene were Bluffton Fire and EMS, Beaverdam Richland Fire and EMS, ED’s Towing, and Allen County Mortuary Services, who provided emergency response, recovery, and roadway clearance support.
