According to the St. Petersburg Police Department, Gaige was approached by three teenage suspects in the 4200 block of 15th Avenue South around 6:30 p.m. The situation escalated into gunfire, leaving the young teen critically injured. He was rushed to the hospital, where despite medical efforts to save him, he later passed away.
Authorities confirmed that a 16-year-old suspect has been taken into custody and charged with felony murder and violation of supervised release. Police continue to search for two additional suspects believed to be involved in the incident, and the investigation remains ongoing.
