The Mechanicsville community is mourning the heartbreaking and tragic loss of Kristen Michelle Moolhuyzen, whose life was taken far too soon. According to the Hanover County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a residence in the 7400 block of Mook Court on the evening of June 12 following a reported suspicious death investigation. Upon arrival, authorities discovered Kristen deceased inside her home. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
As investigators began processing evidence, a homicide investigation quickly unfolded. Officials later identified Kristen’s ex-boyfriend, 44-year-old Daniel Aaron Geiges of Goochland, as a suspect in the case. Authorities located his vehicle at his apartment complex and spent the night executing search warrants related to the investigation.
The following morning, Virginia State Police executed a search warrant at the suspect’s residence, where Geiges was found deceased. The circumstances surrounding both deaths remain under investigation, and authorities have not yet released additional details.
